My boyfriend had noticed this restaurant on the Happy Hours website for Vancouver region. Bayside Lounge is located right across English Bay, downtown of Vancouver, and nestled right on top of the Starbucks found on Denman and Davie St.
Since the weather was shining and beautiful, we decided to drive down and check this restaurant out for their Happy Hour, which starts from 3 pm to 6 pm every day.
Walking into Bayside Lounge at first seemed a bit awkward. It gave off an old country bar vibe with retired folk all around us. The servers also stared at us from afar and greeted us with awkward an “Hi” telling us we could seat ourselves. So we continued in and decided to seat ourselves closest to the beach view.
After sitting at our table for some time, we eased into the restaurant feel. It didn’t seem too bad after all. The Happy Hour prices were amazing! $5 cocktails?? Why not. Nothing could beat that price at that moment. I decided to order a Ceasar for the price of $5, and my boyfriend ordered the Cosmopolitan for $7.
We also decided to order some appetizers. The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna with Wonton Crisps came to $9, along with the Steak Bites for $10 and we couldn’t forget the Charred Brussel Sprouts for just $5! What a steal this all was for.
I was a little skeptical of the prices of the menu. In the past, food for the prices we found on the Happy Hour would have tasted awful. However, we found the complete opposite here! Everything we ordered at Bayside Lounge came out to be very delicious.
The Steak Bites were flavourful, the Brussel Sprouts were quite delicious, and the Ahi Tuna Wonton Crisps were crunchy and not overly saucy.
Thank you, Bayside Lounge, for a delightful time.
